Theme is one of the important essence of a wordpress blog. It gives look and feel to your blog, and sometimes theme gives special identity to blogs. Variety of wordpress themes are available all over the internet. Just do a google search on WordPress themes and see the result. There are lots and lots of paid and free themes. Why should you go for paid themes, if you can get better themes for free?

Changing theme is very easy, but choosing a theme is one of the difficult task i have ever felt.

Now lets start…

Open your Dashboard.

.1

To change your theme, goto Appearance-> Add New Themes

1

‘Install Themes’ page will be opened as shown below:

2

You can either search for a theme or you can upload one (Uploading is not supported in free WordPress Blog, only searching). Others can Click the Upload option as shown below:

3

Next step is to choose a file. But before choosing a file, you need to have the file. So first download a free theme. You can either google for “top 10 free wordpress themes” or go to the following link:

www.web2feel.com

You can see a number of themes that are available to download. Download a theme of your choice.

(Themes are ‘zip’ files.Just check it after downloading.)

After downloading, go back to your ‘Install Themes’ page and click the Choose File option. Choose the theme you have just downloaded.

4

After choosing the file click “ Install Now” .

6

This will unpack and install the theme.(see the bottom of your browser to see the progress ).

After installing, you will get a page as shown below, click  activate to activate the theme.

7

Check your blog after activating the theme. The theme of your blog would have changed. Thats all about changing themes. You can add any number of themes. Each theme you upload, will be saved in  ‘Appearance-> Themes’ .

Google for more themes, and have fun.
